Former Opposition Leader Shyne Barrow Speaks at Caribbean Music Conference in Jamaica

Belize’s Former Leader of the Opposition Moses “Shyne” Barrow recently took the international stage in Kingston, where he served as a keynote speaker at the Island Music Conference held from February 25 through to the 28.  Barrow delivered a presentation titled “From Stage to State,” sharing his journey from global hip-hop artist to national political leader in Belize. The conference brings together music executives, producers, artists, and industry professionals from across the Caribbean and beyond to explore opportunities and challenges within the regional music industry. During his keynote address, Barrow spoke about the intersection of culture, music, and leadership, emphasizing the influence Caribbean artists can have not only in entertainment but also in shaping society and public policy.

Meanwhile, Barrow also revealed that he has recently returned to the recording studio working on new music. In a post shared on social media, he described spending time recording with acclaimed producer Timbaland, while renowned hip-hop producer Polow da Don also stopped by during the session.  According to Barrow, the studio experience forms part of work on an upcoming new Shyne album, which he hinted could feature collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry.
