JAMAICA’S Rasheed Foster captured the men’s 100 metres title in a championship record 10.14 seconds at the Fourth International University Americas Games (FISU) in Lima, Peru, yesterday. Foster exploded from the blocks and led from start to finish to secure an emphatic victory ahead of Chile’s Benjamin Aravena and Juan Pablo Nordetti, who both clocked 10.37 to take the silver and bronze medals, respectively. Jamaica’s Deandre Daley finished fourth in 10.38. A delighted Foster said he was grateful for the victory and thanked everyone who played a role in his success.
