After a nominal period of relative quiet, dancehall heavyweight Munga Honorable is signalling a carefully calculated shift into his next chapter. The deejay has announced ‘My VIP’, the first single from his forthcoming EP, produced by Grammy Award-winning producer and music executive Comar “Frankie” Campbell of Frankie Music Production. Slated for release on February 13, during Valentine’s Day week, the track is positioned as both a romantic offering and a tone-setter for what promises to be a tightly curated project.
Speaking with Prism Marketing Consultants, Campbell explained that the timing was deliberate. “Every day is special, but it’s always extra special when you can share those days with someone special—hence the title VIP,” he said, underscoring the single’s message to female listeners. The production process, he added, was seamless. “Working with Munga was pretty simple. He understood what I wanted to share with one of my favourite audiences, reggae, so it was pretty smooth.
While Munga Honorable is widely known for his gritty, high-energy dancehall catalogue, Campbell revealed that My VIP leans into a softer, more intimate dimension. “I focused on sharing the side of Munga that most people wouldn’t see right away—the side the ladies crave: love,” he noted. Still, authenticity remains central. According to Campbell, Munga’s experience and cultural awareness are what continue to anchor his relevance in today’s evolving dancehall landscape.
As for the EP itself, details remain closely guarded. Campbell was tight-lipped but confident, hinting that the project will explore multiple sides of Munga’s artistry without losing focus. “I don’t want to give away too much,” he said with a laugh. “But what I can say is that you won’t be disappointed.” With a Grammy-winning producer at the helm and a Valentine’s Week release locked in, My VIP marks the opening chapter of what could be one of Munga Honorable’s most intriguing eras yet.
