Fraser Pryce Returns to Tokyo

Multiple World and Olympic games champion Shelly- Ann Fraser Pryce says she is happy to be heading back to the scene of her first senior global championship to bring the curtain down on her amazing 18 year career.

Fraser Pryce who will be 39 in December qualified on Friday at the National Stadium to represent the country at one last global championship, the world outdoors in Tokyo Japan in September.

The third place finish in the 100m means Fraser Pryce booked her spot alongside Skerica Jackson and Tina Clayton.

17 years ago, the then little known Fraser Pryce was part of the Jamaica squad which took part in the World Championships in Osaka Japan.

The following year 2008 was her breakout, she went on to win Olympic gold in Beijing before going to become arguably the greatest female sprinter of all times.

But Japan is where it all started and there’s where it will end.
