IN A match most expected to be a closely fought contest, Frazsiers Whip battered Los Perfectos 7-1 yesterday at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex to remain the only perfect team in the Jamaica Women’s Premier League (JWPL).

A brace each from Danishca Rattray (19th, 63rd), Davia Richards (23rd, 65th) and Ricquanna Richards (72nd, 78th) led the bulk of the goalscoring efforts for Frazsiers Whip as Cassandra Smith (27th) also added her name to the scoresheet.

Former Reggae Girl Venecia Reid’s strike in the 29th minute proved to be a consolation goal for Los Perfectos.

It was the defending champions who got off the mark first when Rattray was played through on goal in the 19th, making no mistake from close range.

A late challenge in the box from the Los Perfectos goalkeeper Tashana Levy gave Frazsiers Whip the opportunity to double their lead from the penalty spot, with captain Davia Richards confidently dispatching.

The third goal would be another gift handed to the league leaders as a mistake around the back allowed for Smith to place an uncontested shot into the back of the net just before the half-hour mark.

Los Perfectos would pull one back before the half-time whistle as Reid was quick on her feet to fire home a volley off an initially deflected shot from Andrene Smith.

Frazsiers Whip picked up where they left off in the second half, restoring their three-goal advantage with a showcase of teamwork, a series of short passes outside the box releasing Rattray who dribbled past her markers before beating the goalkeeper at her near post.

Davia Richards would return for her brace in the 66th minute as she burst through on goal to slot home with ease.

Goal number six for Frazsiers Whip came through a show of speed from winger Ricquanna Richards as she easily outran her markers to finish past the onrushing goalkeeper in the 72nd.

She would get her brace just six minutes later when she was first to react to a Destiny Powell shot that ricocheted off the crossbar.

The win sees Frazsiers Whip moving to nine points from three games while Los Perfectos suffered their first defeat of the season, falling to third in the standings on six.

In the other match of the afternoon, Arnett Gardens were in red-hot form as they turned back Mile Gully 4-1 in a one-sided contest.

Shikira Douglas showed her attacking prowess as she netted a hat trick for the Junglists to secure all three points.

Also in action, Wifi United defeated Springers United 5-1 to pick up their first win of the season, while Springers slumped to their second consecutive loss of the campaign.
