BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar has been named as the replacement for fellow Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the Barbados Tridents team for the remainder of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League season.

The 20-year-old mystery has been called up in place of Ur Rahman, who left the squad to take part in Afghanistan’s T20I series against India.

Ghazanfar joins a Trident side that sits bottom of the seven-team table having won just three of seven matches.

He has played 80 T20s and taken 98 wickets an economy rate of 7.21.

He previously represented the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons and has played for several other franchises including the Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL), as well as Rangpur Riders, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, MI New York and the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

Ghazanfar is expected to join the Tridents before their next home game against the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots on Thursday in a must-win contest at Kensington Oval.
