Gibson/McCook Relay Gets World Athletics Tier Two Status

The Gibson/McCook Relays have been granted World Athletics tier two status.

This announcement was made on Thursday at the launch of the 2025 staging, scheduled for Saturday, February 22 at the National Stadium.

Thirty-one relay events will be contested at the meet, 15 of which are championship races.

The top boys and girls teams will collect $100,000 each, while the top overall athlete will secure $150,000, while record breakers in championship races will receive $75,000.

Some 250 schools and institutions have already entered.

Last year, there were seven overseas teams in action at the Relays, this year only a team from the Cayman Islands will be here.
