Opposition leader and People’s National Party, PNP, president, Mark Golding, says he expects the party to regain constituencies in Manchester and St Elizabeth.
Among the seats being targeted is North West St Elizabeth where the incumbent JC Hutchinson has announced that he is not seeking re-election.
Hutchinson, a member of the governing Jamaica Labour Party, has been member of parliament since 1997.
He recently endorsed Lacovia High School Principal Andrew Morris to replace him.
But Golding believes PNP aspirant Patricia Scarlett-Forrester will be better.
And Scarlett-Forrester, principal of Pisgah Primary School, has expressed confidence for the next parliamentary election due in September.
