Political commentator and trade unionist, Helene Davis Whyte, says Opposition Leader Mark Golding is having trouble maintaining a positive favourability momentum.
She was reacting to the latest Nationwide/Bluedot poll, powered by Total Tools.
The poll found that a plurality of Jamaicans, 41 per cent, believe Mark Golding has been doing an average job as opposition leader over the last four years.
Thirty-six per cent believe he’s doing a poor job, while 23 per cent believe he has been doing a good job.
According to the poll, Golding’s poor rating has increased by six percentage points over the last five months.
In September 2024, the poor rating was 30 per cent. Also in September 2024, 29 per cent of respondents rated Golding as good. That was his highest rating in the category since 2022.
The February 2025 score has fallen by six percentage points.
Mrs. Davis Whyte believes the developments regarding what’s being called the PNP/KSAMC corruption scandal may have factored into Golding’s favourability ratings.
