Golding: Holness Was Out of Time to Call Election

In response to the announcement of the date for the General Election, PNP President and Opposition Leader Mark Golding says the Prime Minister was forced to make the call as his administration was out of time.

Jamaicans will go to the polls on September 3.

Prime Minister, Dr. Andrew Holness announced the date during a JLP mass rally in Half Way Tree, St. Andrew on Sunday night.

The Prime Minister also announced local government by-elections will take place in four divisions on the same day as the general election.

Golding says the PNP will be stepping up its campaign in the coming days.
