Golding Pledges to Build 50,000 Houses in 5 Years

2 months ago 6

Opposition leader, Mark Golding, says Jamaicans should trust a People’s National Party, PNP, administration to help them achieve their dream of owning their own home.

Speaking at a PNP constituency conference in Western Hanover on Sunday, Golding characterised the PNP as the party for home ownership, even as he criticised the prime minister’s New Social Housing Programme, NSHP.

The prime minister says to date, 292 houses have been handed over to beneficiaries under the NSHP. Dr. Holness says the NSHP is the most successful social housing initiative in the country’s history.

But Mark Golding is not convinced.

He told comrades that under his leadership the next PNP administration will build 50,000 houses over five years, most of them for poor Jamaicans.

And Mark Golding is appealing to PNP supporters to put all differences aside as the party gets ready for the next general election.

Golding says it will take a united PNP to complete its mission to save Jamaica.
