Golding Will Find Favour if Policies Give Jamaicans More Disposable Income – Commentator

Political commentator, Helene Davis Whyte, says Opposition Leader Mark Golding will find favour with many Jamaicans if he brings forward policies that will allow them to increase their disposable income.

Golding is set to make his contribution to the budget debate in about two hours’ time.

This will be Golding’s fifth budget presentation since being elected People’s National Party president.

The opposition leader has posted on his social media platforms that the theme of his presentation will be: ‘Championing Change — Growth, Opportunity and Progress for All’.

Davis Whyte says Golding must focus on articulating how improvements in the country’s fiscal stability can redound to the benefit of ordinary Jamaicans.

Meanwhile, Davis Whyte says Mark Golding’s biggest challenge may very well be getting Jamaicans to believe that his plans for the country are indeed credible.

Nationwide 90Fm will have live coverage of Mark Golding’s budget presentation starting at about 2pm.
