One hundred and seventy-three public officers from across the country were recognized for reaching the remarkable milestone of 25 years of service. The 2026 Public Service Awards Ceremony was held last night as part of this year’s Public Service Week celebrations, hosted by the Ministry of the Public Service and Disaster Risk Management. The gala event brought together senior government officials, public officers, family members, and invited guests to celebrate the commitment and professionalism of employees who have devoted a quarter-century to serving the Belizean people. Awards were presented by Governor General Her Excellency Dame Froyla Tzalam and Minister Henry Charles Usher. In his address, Minister Usher emphasized that public officers remain the backbone of government and are central to delivering the policies, programmes, and essential services that directly improve the lives of Belizeans. Additionally, he reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to continuing the modernization of the public service in keeping with the vision of Plan Belize. This year’s Public Service Week was observed under the theme, “Transform Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Inclusion, and Participation,”
