The Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development and Local Government is moving ahead with efforts to modernize Belize’s liquor licensing system by engaging residents, business owners, and stakeholders to gather feedback on proposed reforms. A consultation was held at the Punta Gorda Town Council Conference Room, where Director of Local Government Clifford King led discussions on reviewing and updating the existing framework for liquor licensing across the country. We join Senior Correspondent Paul Mahung for that story.
The Ministry says the feedback collected from these engagements will help guide the development of updated legislation that balances the needs of businesses with public safety, responsible alcohol regulation, and sustainable community development.
