Green Rips PNP for Management of Agriculture Portfolio

Disgraceful and shameful! That’s how Minister of Agriculture, Floyd Green, characterised the tenure of the previous People’s National Party, PNP, administration’s management of the portfolio.

The minister delivered a scathing critique during his Sectoral Debate presentation on Tuesday, comparing it to what he sees as the significant progress made under the Holness-administration.

The minister says the opposition PNP has served nothing but disrespect to the nation’s farmers. He cited the unprecedented lack of a sitting member of parliament currently shadowing the agriculture portfolio.

Currently the portfolio of agriculture is shadowed by the PNP’s Dr. Dayton Campbell, who does not sit in either Houses of Parliament.

To further hammer his point home, Minister Green says not a single question in relation to agriculture has been asked during the Standing Finance Committee two years running.

However, Minister Green says what is more frightening is there tenure as government in relation to agriculture.
