Officers of the Region II Homicide Bureau of Investigations say enquiries into the murder of businessman and reputed underworld figure Danny Guerra continue, as a person of interest is actively being sought for questioning.
Guerra, 50, was shot and killed in his vehicle outside his Oropouche Road, Sangre Grande, office on March 13.
Sources close to the enquiry have confirmed that no one has been arrested or detained for questioning in relation to his murder, but confirm that the matter is still “engaging the attention” of homicide detectives, who have identified one man as a suspect.
The source said the individual, once found, will be interviewed about the incident.
The officer revealed that a possible motive for Guerra’s murder may have stemmed from an incident where an excavator was set on fire sometime earlier this year in East Trinidad.
The source said officers continue to work towards following different leads and finding suspects, while officers of the Criminal Gang and Intelligence Unit (GGIU) are continuing to do their part in supporting investigations.
