It’s a week ago to the day…another brazen robbery occurred this morning at the Belize Marketing and Development Corporation (Market Board) on the San Lorenzo Road, Orange Town. A gunman in a grey hoodie held up a woman security guard at the gate walked over to the cashier and grabbed a bag with $20,000. Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith addressed the robbery at a virtual afternoon press conference held today.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “A male person who was masked entered the establishment and he was armed with a weapon with which he made demands and took a black in colour bag with an undisclosed amount of money being the property of the Marketing Board. The male person made good his escape with the assistance of another male person on a motorcycle. The investigators in Orange Walk have retrieved a number of video footages which are being reviewed and it is believed that it will assist us in this investigation.”
