In Belize City, 58-year-old Richard Hughes reported that a man pointed a gun at him and pulled the trigger twice while he was sitting on his veranda on September 6. According to Hughes, the weapon failed to fire both times. The suspect reportedly escaped on a bicycle. One man has been detained, but police have not indicated that charges have been laid.
