Heavy rain washes out Falcons, Patriots clash at Warner Park

​BASSETERRE – Persistent rainfall ruined hopes of play on Sunday, forcing the 21st match of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) between the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons and the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots to be abandoned without a single ball being bowled at Warner Park in St Kitts & Nevis.

​Ground staff made every effort to prepare the surface, but relentless downpours left the outfield waterlogged and unsafe for play. Following a series of inspections by the match officials, the fixture was officially called off, leaving both sides to share a point apiece.

​The shared point proved crucial for the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, pushing them to nine points from eight matches and cementing their place at the top of the standings. The Patriots, meanwhile, remain rooted to the bottom of the table with three points from six games, desperately needing victories in their remaining fixtures to keep their playoff hopes alive.

​Behind the front-running Falcons, the Saint Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors continue to press near the top of the table, making the race for the knockout stages increasingly tight as the tournament progresses.
