Highway Delays Expected as Massive Bridge Beams Transported to Cayo

Drivers along portions of the Philip Goldson and George Price Highway should expect some delays as a wide load is scheduled to be transported tomorrow and Friday.  The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) issued an advisory earlier today indicating that the delays would be due to the transportation of three massive 75-foot-long bridge beams for the Santa Familia Bridge Project. The extremely heavy loads will travel from Ladyville to Santa Familia, Cayo, impacting several key highways.  The beams will be moved along the Philip Goldson Highway, the Boom-Hattieville Road, the George Price Highway, the Spanish Lookout entrance road, and the Spanish Lookout Road to Bullet Tree Road.  Motorists are urged to be extremely cautious and vigilant when they encounter these loads. The beams will take up a significant portion of the road, and traffic will move at a much slower pace. Drivers must follow all traffic warnings and instructions from the escorts accompanying the transport.
