Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness is calling a recent video circulated on social media focusing on the Mason Hall water supply project in West St. Mary, misleading.
The government commissioned the water supply project in Mason Hall at the end of March.
During the commissioning, a temporary system was set up and turned on to demonstrate water had reached the community.
The government says it’s a signal to residents that they can now can engage the National Water Commission to have the supply in their homes.
But following the ceremony, People’s National Party supporters took to social media alleging that the ceremonial commissioning was a trick and did not mean any resident had pipes running to their yards.
Prime Minister Holness says Jamaicans have to consider which political party they can trust.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Holness says 150,000 Jamaicans have benefitted from improved water supply over the last five years.
Dr. Holness says the water projects are impacting many communities.
