Holness Confronts Those Who Benefited from FINSAC Era

Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has directly confronted those sitting in Parliament, who benefitted from the financial collapse of the 1990s.

He was making his contribution to the Budget Debate in the House of Representatives on Thursday.

As Opposition Leader, Mark Golding pointedly stared at his cellphone, the Prime Minister posed specific questions on the floor of the House of Representatives.

Dr. Holness referenced comments made by former PNP Cabinet Minister, Ronald Thwaites.

As the Prime Minister posed his questions, a snapshot of a newspaper article regarding former Contractor General, Greg Christie’s report alleging a sweetheart deal between the then PNP administration and former investment bank, Dehring, Bunting and Golding, DB&G.

Mr. Golding was a partner in DB&G.

In a direct response to the Opposition Leader, the Prime Minister says the Opposition People’s National Party has no right to claim paternity for Jamaica’s fiscal discipline.
