Holness: JLP Has Proven it Can Tame Crime Monster

Two hundred and fifty eight fewer people have been murdered so far this year. That’s according to the latest crime statistics from the Jamaica Constabulary force, JCF.

Between January 1 and July 12, the country recorded 370 homicides.

That’s a 41 per cent drop when compared to the 628 killed during the corresponding period in 2024.

All parishes, except Portland and St Mary, have recorded declines in murder. Both parishes recorded an increase of one in comparison to the 2024 review period.

Pointing to the results at a political meeting in St Elizabeth over the weekend, Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, leader, Dr. Andrew Holness, says his administration has proven that it can tame the crime monster.
