Prime Minister, Dr. Andrew Holness is rejecting claims from the PNP that the government has failed to deliver prosperity for Jamaicans.

PNP President, Mark Golding, made the claim at a party meeting in St. Catherine on Tuesday.

But speaking at Wednesday’s groundbreaking for the Wakefield Mews Palms Housing Development in the same parish, Dr. Holness argued that many confuse prosperity with instant pleasure.

Golding took the Holness-led government to task, for what he says is its failure to stabilise or improve the economy.

Golding further questioned why so many Jamaicans are still not feeling the effects of the booming economy.

In defending his stewardship, the JLP leader pointed to the reduction in crime, poverty and record low unemployment as proof of prosperity.
