Home Affairs Minister admits need for stronger security amid recent southern shootings

Home Affairs Minister Oscar Mira has acknowledged the need for increased security in the south.  Referring to the recent shootings and homicides, the minister says the Police Department are working at strengthening the formations, particularly in those hot spots.  As it relates to progress in the investigations of those incidents, Minister Mira declined to comment.

Over the New Year’s holiday, three men were killed and six others injured in the south.  The hot spots have been identified as the villages of Bella Vista, and Mango Creek/Independence.
