The local race horse fraternity is this afternoon mourning the passing of former trainer and president of the Trainers Association Vin Edwards.
Edwards who was president of the Jamaica Racehorse Trainers Association, JRTA, for over 10-years, died today.
He was 90.
In 2007 he was honoured by the JRTA for his long and meritorious service to horse racing .
That same year he was conferred the National Honour, the Order of Distinction, O.D., for services to horse racing and community service.
Chairman of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited, Solomon Sharpe, says the passing of Edwards has left a void in the industry.
Sharpe says Edwards was an industry Icon.
