How to lose weight ‘2.1.0’

1 week ago 7

MANY DIETS, supplements, and meal replacement plans claim to ensure rapid weight loss. However, people may see better results with lifestyle changes, such as regular exercise, keeping track of calorie intake, intermittent fasting, and reducing the number of carbohydrates in the diet.

According to Dr Orlando Thomas, medical doctor and functional medicine practitioner at Thomas Medical and Shockwave Centre in Old Harbour, St Catherine, he has developed a ‘2.1.0’ weight loss plan that can assist people that need to lose weight, and do so effortlessly and effectively.

His ‘2.1.0’ weight loss plan involves having two meals for four days, one meal for two days; and fasting on another day. “Some days of the week, you have two meals for the day, some days one meal per day. Then one day of the week you have a 24-hour period of fasting. This may sound daunting, but I guarantee you over 3,000 people have done it under my guidance successfully, and have lost weight,” Dr Thomas said.

On the days that you have two meals, you have intermittent fasting, so you have two meals six hours apart; breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner. These meals should be packed full of nutrients.

“I usually recommend for breakfast, a very rich nutrient dense smoothie. For lunch you can have a rich salad, with ample amount of your choice of protein. If you are going to be having lunch, then you can have a rich salad and maybe something else; and an entrée and some starch for dinner. There is a wide variety of options that you can choose from,” Dr Thomas said.

In between meals, you can drink water; no snacks and no other meals. “If you do this for four days per week: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, those four days you have two meals, you are on your way to losing weight effectively. On two days per week: Monday and Wednesday, you have one meal, so you will be fasting for 23 hours, and that one meal must be a big meal consuming at least 1,500 calories,” Dr Thomas said.

This meal should include an appetiser, a main course and dessert. “Treat yourself well, have a beautiful three course meal, so that you are well nourished and one day per week, which can probably be Friday, you will have zero meals. On that day you will have zero calorie beverages, for example water, tea, or coffee without sweetener,” he said.

This programme was been done repetitively by thousands of people, he said and they have been losing weight. “Some people have lost 10, 15, 20 even up to 50 pounds in a matter of weeks, that have completely transformed their lives,” he said.

The benefits of the weight loss plan, especially having one meal per day and fasting, he said, will cause you to lose weight, not just any weight but primarily fat when you consume food in the right quantities and at the right time.

“You preserve your muscle mass and lose fat. This programme helps you to develop discipline, not just in eating but in every area of your life. Once you can conquer your appetite and you are able to self regulate what you eat, you find that you develop self-confidence, even in areas of work,” Dr Thomas said.
