People’s National Party, PNP, caretaker for West St. Thomas, Hubert Williams, has pledged to provide consistent access to potable water for residents if he is elected member of parliament, MP.
Williams, who is a former mayor of Morant Bay, is seeking to unseat long-serving MP the Jamaica Labour Party’s James Robertson. Robertson has represented the constituency since 2002.
Speaking at the launch of his campaign in Easington on Sunday, Williams criticised Robertson’s tenure.
In addition to addressing water access, Williams promised greater support for local farmers, particularly those in the coffee industry.

In the 2020 general elections, Robertson defeated the PNP’s Marsha Francis by more than 2,000 votes.
To claim victory, Williams will need to close that gap and break the JLP’s five-term hold on the constituency.
