Hublot Introduces Timepiece In Tribute To Usain Bolt’s Legacy, The Fastest Man Alive

Highlighting the essence of Jamaican culture and paying tribute to Usain Bolt’s legendary world-record 100m sprint, Hublot’s latest release, the Big Bang Reloaded Usain Bolt, is making a significant statement.

Even with a star-studded lineup that includes icons such as 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and three-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes, Usain Bolt stands out as Hublot’s most remarkable athlete ambassador. Although Bolt retired nearly a decade ago, his unparalleled Olympic achievements, including three gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay at Beijing 2008, London 2012, and Rio 2016, remain unmatched. He holds three world records in these events, one of which is ingeniously represented in the new timepiece.

Positioned between the 6 and 8 o’clock markers are the numerals 6-5-8, which, when viewed upside down, signify “9.58,” Bolt’s world-record time set in 2009. The watch features a lightning bolt-shaped chronograph second hand, reminiscent of Bolt’s iconic pose, while the polished 18K yellow gold bezel is inscribed with his inspiring mantra: “Anything is Possible, Don’t Think Limits.”

In a creative touch, the caseback of the watch incorporates “authentic soil” from Bolt’s training ground in Jamaica, encapsulated between two sapphire crystals within a lightning bolt design. The watch is powered by the HUB1280 Unico Manufacture, also known as the Unico 2, which is the successor to the caliber that has powered the Big Bang since 2010.

This movement is presented in a skeletonized format, with its column wheel, oscillating clutch, and flyback highlighted in the vibrant colors of the Jamaican flag for enhanced visibility. The bezel, crafted from 18K yellow gold and frosted carbon, is secured by six H-shaped gold screws. The timepiece is offered with two interchangeable One Click wristbands: one in yellow gold-toned Velcro fabric and another in black, yellow, and green camouflage rubber.
