Close to 300 Belizean men and women took advantage of the immigration mobile clinic that landed in Texas last Thursday. Belizeans living in the United States were given easier access to essential nationality services from Saturday, February 14 to Monday evening as the Ministry of Immigration launched another Mobile Passport Hub in Houston, Texas. The outreach exercise was held at the Hilton Garden Inn Energy Corridor, where officers from the Nationality and Passport Department accepted passport applications and nationality-by-descent requests. The initiative forms part of the Government of Belize’s continued effort to bring services directly to members of the diaspora who often face challenges traveling back home to complete official documentation. Officials say the mobile hub allows Belizeans abroad to regularize their status, renew expired passports and begin the citizenship process for children born overseas, all within a single visit. The ministry has indicated that similar outreach missions will continue in other cities with large Belizean populations as part of its broader strategy to improve accessibility and maintain strong ties with nationals living abroad.
