The effects of Hurricane Melissa have led to the postponement of several entertainment events across Jamaica.
Dancehall artist Kemar Highcon’s birthday celebration, Ibiza, which was scheduled for October 26 in Kingston, has been postponed until further notice.
The annual Lighthouse Series at Lover’s Leap in St. Elizabeth, featuring Marcia Griffiths and Tanya Stephens, has also been postponed. That event was set for October 25.
Meanwhile, the Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise, which departed today, has cancelled its Jamaican stop due to the hurricane. Instead, the cruise will now travel from Miami to Mexico.
Organizers and artists have urged fans to stay safe and prioritize their well-being as the island braces for Hurricane Melissa.
