Hussey Backs Champion Jockey Raddesh Roman to Break Single Season Wins Record

Former champion jockey Charles Hussey, says reigning champion Raddesh Roman is capable of beating Trevor Simpson’s record for most wins in a single season at Caymanas Park.

Simpson rode 172 winners in 2002.

Roman currently sits on 69 wins with his closest rival being the veteran Shane Ellis on 30. 

Hussey told Nationwide Sports that Simpson’s record is impressive, which explains why no rider has gone close.

The four-time champion, affectionately called ‘King Charles’, says he’s impressed with current crop of riders at the park.
