Hydrological Service Director, Tenielle Hendy, Recognized for Regional Science Leadership

The Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Solid Waste Management is recognizing Director of the Belize National Hydrological Service, Tenielle Hendy, following her participation in a regional webinar focused on women in science.  Hendy served as a panelist in the RA IV Focal Point on Gender Webinar Series titled “Women: Leading and Inspiring in the Atmospheric and Hydrological Sciences of the Region,” where she joined other Caribbean professionals in discussing leadership, research and opportunities for women within environmental and water sciences.  The ministry says her involvement highlights Belize’s ongoing efforts to strengthen regional collaboration and promote gender leadership in technical fields, particularly those connected to climate monitoring and water management.  Officials also noted that her participation serves to encourage young women across the region to pursue careers in science and environmental management, areas considered increasingly important as countries confront climate change and water resource challenges.
