Staff of the Department of Border Management and Immigration Services (DBMIS) underwent a round of professional development training aimed at sharpening the skills needed for modern border operations. The session was led by retired Supervisory Special Agent and law enforcement advisor Dr. Raymond Kelly and covered areas such as investigative techniques, interview and interrogation methods, critical thinking, communication, and report writing. The Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour says the training is part of broader efforts to strengthen the Department’s analytical capacity and overall readiness. The move comes as border agencies worldwide continue adapting to more complex migration and security challenges. Officials maintain that ongoing training is important to ensure officers are prepared to balance national security responsibilities with public service. The Ministry adds that DBMIS is continuing to pursue upgrades to its systems and professional standards as part of its wider modernization push.
