An Indian Creek Village resident is counting heavy losses after a fire destroyed his home on New Year’s Day, leaving him without shelter and most of his belongings as 2026 began. The blaze completely consumed the wooden structure owned by Anselmo Cholom, destroying major household appliances, including a refrigerator and fans, as well as essential items such as furniture, kitchen utensils, and personal effects. By the time the fire was extinguished, little remained salvageable. Love News reporter Paul Mahung visited the scene and documented the aftermath of the devastating incident, detailing the full extent of the damage and the profound impact the sudden loss has had on Cholom and his family.
Residents described the fire as a heartbreaking way to begin the new year, noting that Cholom was left with virtually nothing after the flames tore through the house. Anyone willing to assist the Cholom family can contact them at 613-6730.
