JLP candidate for South Manchester, Ian Ives says he’s confident the labour party will fend off a resurgent PNP in the constituency.
He was speaking on Nationwide This Morning on Thursday.

Ives, a first time candidate is up against the PNP’s Peter Bunting.
According to the businessman and certified mechanical engineer, the support from those voters in the undecided category is encouraging.
The JLP’s Robert Chin won South Manchester in the 2020 general election by 8-hundred and 90 votes.
However, in March, he was replaced by Ives during a selection exercise.
Ives says since then, workers and JLP supporters have rallied around him.
According to Ives, his presence is being felt in each of the four divisions in South Manchester; Alligator Pond, Porus, Grove Town and Newport.
Meanwhile, Ives says there’s been strong support in divisions that historically lean to the PNP.
