Gramps Morgan took to Instagram in an emotional post celebrating the RIAA Gold certification of J Boog’s hit single “Sunshine Girl,” feating Peetah Morgan officially reaching 500,000 sales and streaming units in the US. The certification date is listed as January 12, 2026, with the single released digitally under Washhouse Music Group.

In his message, Gramps Morgan, who produced the track made it clear this accomplishment carries deep meaning. It wasn’t just another plaque—it was validation.

“I’ve put in so much work into this business to see this accomplishment as a Producer which many don’t know the songs I’ve touched.”

“Sunshine Girl” is the third single from J Boog’s second studio album, Backyard Boogie, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. The album also spawned fan-favorite singles like “Let Me Know” and “Let’s Do It Again.” The latter is the first track from the album to earn major international recognition—being certified Gold in the United States last year, and certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in 2022.

Gramps showed love to J Boog for trusting him with the record and highlighting those who played key roles in his growth and journey as a producer.

He shouted out Uncle B and his brother Prince Jonah for taking a chance on him during the creation of the album, calling it a joy to see the single achieve such a major sales milestone.

He also showed respect to Washhouse and their movement:

“Big Up Washhouse!! @washhouse @washhousemusicblog @empire”

He recalled the night after an awards show when he invited his brother Peetah Morgan (@peetahmusic) to the studio.

“I’ll never forget the evening when I told my brother @peetahmusic to come to the studio with me after the awards show to work on this song…”
