JAAA Names Relay Teams for Barbados Grand Prix

The JAAA, on Wednesday, named three relay teams to compete at the first ever Barbados Grand Prix in Bridgetown on Saturday as they aim to achieve qualifying standards ahead of September’s World Championships in Japan.

The men’s sprint relay, the mixed 4-by-400m and the women’s mile relay teams are yet to secure the World Championship qualifying standards.

Only two of those will be chasing qualifying times in Barbados this weekend.

The team of Roneisha McGregor, Shanakaye Anderson. Jeremy Bembridge and Bovel McPherson will run in the mixed 4x400m.

Kadrian Goldson, Adrian Kerr, Bouwahgie Nkrumie and Odaine McPherson will seek the men’s 4×100 qualifying time.

The third team of Jonielle Smith, Serena Cole, Krystal Sloley and Jodean Williams will run in the womens’ sprint relay, that team has already qualified for the World Championships.

Brian Smith is team manager, Paul Francis head coach with Jowayne Johnson and Lamar Richards his assistants.
