Kingsmen Sports Enterprise has confirmed its entry into the Caribbean Premier League with the launch of a Jamaica-based franchise.
The franchise is backed by a US investment group with interests in sports infrastructure, technology and community development. The group has also invested in a team in the Pakistan Super League. It plans to develop sports tourism, local enterprise participation and year-round activity linked to cricket and entertainment in Jamaica.
Group President Fawad Sarwar said the franchise is intended to create employment, support local businesses and position Jamaica in cricket, culture and sportainment.
The company said the team is expected to generate direct and indirect economic activity through hotel occupancy, staffing, vendor partnerships and tourism during and beyond the CPL season. It said Jamaican suppliers, service providers, creatives and event partners will be prioritised.
The franchise will align with the CPL’s “Biggest Party in Sport” brand by incorporating music, food, fashion and community activities into matchday events.
Kingsmen also announced plans for a development pathway for Jamaican cricketers. The initiative will connect grassroots programmes to professional opportunities locally and overseas, with investment in academies, coaching, scouting and youth engagement.
President Sarwar said the initiative will create opportunities for cricketers, entrepreneurs, artists, hospitality workers and communities.
Further details on the team identity, community programmes and launch events are to be announced ahead of the 2026 CPL season.
