KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican film production Redeemed: A Father’s Love has received international recognition, winning the Best Ensemble Cast award at the 2026 Caribbean International Film & Fashion Festival (CARIFF) in Wilmington, Delaware.

The award recognises the collective performances of the Jamaican and international cast in the faith-based crime drama, which explores family secrets, betrayal, faith and forgiveness. The achievement also highlights the growing presence of Jamaican filmmakers and performers in international cinema.

Directed by Luc Stephen and executive produced by Reverend Dr. Otis Manning, the production features American actor Malik Yoba alongside Jamaican and other Caribbean talent, including Jacinth Headlam, Charmaine Fenton, Cornelius Grant, Julie Mango, Safaree Samuels, Justin Awn and Prince Saj.

Inspired by a true story, Redeemed: A Father’s Love centres on the kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl and the investigation that follows. As a police officer and a pastor become involved in the search for answers, disturbing family secrets emerge, including the revelation that the kidnapper is the girl’s biological father.

The film examines the consequences of broken relationships and hidden truths while exploring the possibility of redemption and unconditional love.

Manning described the festival recognition as a significant achievement for the production team, crediting the cast and crew for their contribution to the film’s success.

“Winning Best Ensemble Cast at CARIFF 2026 is a tremendous honour. This recognition belongs to our entire cast and crew, whose talent, commitment and collaboration brought Redeemed: A Father’s Love to life,” he said.

He added that the team had sought to produce a meaningful story that would encourage discussion while demonstrating the potential of Jamaican faith-based filmmaking.

The award follows the film’s sold-out premiere in Kingston in August, which introduced the production to local audiences and generated interest in its storyline and cast.

Manning also acknowledged the support of Jamaican media in helping to bring attention to the project, saying the exposure had contributed to the film’s journey.

The Caribbean International Film & Fashion Festival, held on October 9 and 10, brought together filmmakers and creative professionals to showcase Caribbean cinema, fashion and culture. The event provided a platform for productions from across the region to reach audiences outside their home territories.

For the team behind Redeemed: A Father’s Love, the award represents an opportunity to further showcase Jamaican storytelling and encourage the development of Caribbean talent within the film industry.

The recognition also adds to efforts to expand the visibility of locally produced films internationally, demonstrating how Jamaican stories can engage audiences across cultural and geographical boundaries.
