Jamaica Finish 4th in Regional U19 Tournament

Jamaica lost by 76 runs to the Windward Islands at St. Mary’s Park in St. Kitts on Thursday in their third place playoff of the West Indies Rising Stars Under 19 men’s cricket tournament.

Kirt Murray 62 and captain Stephan Pascal 60 combined to help the Windwards to 226 all out in 46 overs.

Earsinho Fontaine 45 also scored well against Vitel Lawes 3 for 39 and two wickets each for Rhevon Morgan and Tamarie Redwood.

The Jamaicans reply lasted only 26 overs and 5 balls as they were dismissed for 150.

Only captain Brian Barnes 46 and Tyriek Bryan 29 made any scores of worth against Theo Edward and Cody Fontenelle three wickets each.

Barbados won the title after beating the previously unbeaten USA-1 by six wickets at Conaree.

The Americans made 212 all out in 48.2 overs and Barbados replied with 215 for 4 in 38.2 overs.
