Jamaica will have a highly experience squad to select from for the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States and Canada from June 14 to July 6.
The Reggae Boyz are drawn in Group “C” along with Panama, Guatemala and Guadeloupe.
Their first match will be against Guatemala on June 16, four days later they face Guadeloupe and Panama on June 24.
Captain Andre Blake, Jahmali Waite, Dexter Lembikisa, Amari’i Bell, Damion Lowe, Leon Bailey and Bobby Reid are among the tournament veterans coach Steve McClaren has to select from his 23-member squad.
The rest of the squad is Shaquan Davis, Richard King, Ethan Pinnock, Kyle Ming, Greg Leigh, Mason Holgate, Joel Latibeaudiere, Kasey Palmer, Dwayne Atkinson, Jonathan Russell, Issac Hayden, Warner Brown, Rumarn Burrell, Kaheim Dixon, Tyreece Campbell, Michail Antonio, Demarai Gray, Rehnaldo Cephas and Romario Williams.
Blake creates history by becoming the first Reggae Boy to be part of six CONCACAF Gold Cup Squads – 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2025.
While Blake did not play in the 2015 edition of the tournament, he was a valuable member of the squad as Jamaica got to the Gold Cup final that year.
Waite has been selected to his second squad. In the 2023 Gold Cup, he played in Jamaica’s 5-0 win over St. Kitts and Nevis.
Lembikisa’s first squad was for the 2023 tournament.
Bell was also on the 2021 and 2023 squad. He scored for Jamaica versus Guatemala in the 2023 edition in the quarter-finals.
Lowe, with 74 caps for Jamaica, will be in his fifth Gold Cup squad. The others were in 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023.
Lowe was named in the CONCACAF Gold Cup Best Eleven for the 2021 tournament. He has scored two goals in the Gold Cup, 2019 in Jamaica versus Honduras and 2023 against USA in Chicago.
Bailey will be in his fourth Gold Cup for Jamaica after playing in the 2019, 2021, and 2023 tournaments. He scored against Trinidad and Tobago in the 2023 tournament.
And Reid will be making his third Gold Cup for Jamaica. He scored at the 2021 Gold Cup against Suriname.
