Jamaica Opens Medal Account at Pam Am Aquatics Championships

Jamaica has so far picked up two medals at the PanAm Aquatics Championships now underway in Medellin, Colombia.

Collin McKenzie bagged the silver for Jamaica in the 19-22 men’s 100-metres breaststroke in a national record 1:02.23 seconds.

The event was won by Xavier Flores of Puerto Rico with Juan Montoya of Colombia gaining Bronze.

McKenzie’s time also qualifies him for the Junior PanAm in Paraguay, this summer.

Meanwhile, Kia Alert took Bronze in the 13-15 Girls’ 100-metres breaststroke Final in a time of 1:17.85 seconds.

Gold was won by Isabella Garcia of Colombia and silver by Elisa Acosta of Mexico.
