Jamaica’s women has qualified to compete in the Under-21 NORCECA Pan American Volleyball Cup in Costa Rica, from July 20-28.
This follows the local governing body’s successful staging of the 2024 CAZOVA Under-19 Boys and Girls Volleyball Championships at the GC Foster College.
From that tournament, Jamaica’s national Under-19 girls’ team made history by securing their first-ever Championship title at this age group.
General secretary of JaVA, Audley Weir, says Jamaica’s qualification to the Under-21 NORCECA Pan American Cup marks a significant step forward in Jamaica’s volleyball development as this is the first time competing at this level and age group for this gender.
Additionally, Jamaica will host the inaugural CAZOVA Under-17 Boys and Girls Volleyball Championship.
Weir says this landmark event will further position Jamaica as a key player in the regional volleyball landscape.
