Jamaica’s senior men’s national hockey team qualified for the 2026 CAC Games, despite a narrow and frustrating 2-1 loss to Guatemala in
their final match of the 2025 CAC Qualifiers in Mexico, on Sunday.
Technical director of the Jamaica Hockey Federation, Dr, Michelle Holt, says although the defeat was not the ending the team had hoped for, they succeeded in achieving the tournament’s main goal—securing a spot in next year’s CAC Games in the Dominican Republic.
Holt says the tournament was plagued by inconsistent officiating.
