Jamaica’s Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard Set to Return to Court for the West Coast Fever

West Coast Fever and Jamaica superstar Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard has been named for her first game of 2025, ending her Super Netball absence due to personal reasons.

The world’s best goal shooter stepped away from the game after her tragic miscarriage earlier this year, with former Vixen Mwai Kumwenda already signed in Fowler-Nembhard’s expected absence.

But last month Fowler-Nembhard served the club with her four-week notice of intent to return, with the Fever then left to juggle having 12 players and only 11 contracted positions available.

In a statement the club confirmed Fowler-Nembhard was returning at the expense of Kumwenda as one of three changes for the team to face the Melbourne Vixens on Sunday.

Fever general manager Sue Gaudion said, “The journey for Jhaniele and her family has been challenging, and I have no doubt that taking the court on Sunday will be one full of emotion and pride.”
