A seven-member contingent from Jamaica’s senior Men’s basketball team is held up in Mexico City in the midst torrential rain that’s affecting air travel.
The team was preparing to depart Mexico after successfully securing their ticket to the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers in Qatar in November.
Jamaica beat Puerto Rico and Costa Rica but lost to Mexico to finish second in their group.
Assistant coach Rohan Robinson spoke with Nationwide Sports on Tuesday, and described the current situation in Mexico.
Drawn in Group B, Jamaica will now lock horns against the trio of Canada, Bahamas and Puerto Rico in a home and away format.
Coach Robinson, explained that the cohesiveness of this current setup is the main contributor to their recent success.
