Jamaica’s Successful Carifta Team Returns Home

Jamaica’s successful team returned to the island from Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday after finishing top of the Carifta Games medal table for a 39th straight year.

The Jamaicans picked up 30 gold, 27 silver and 21 bronze for a total of 78 medals.

Minister of Sports, Olivia Grange, was among the officials to welcome home the athletes.

Kamari Kennedy of Calabar won the Austin Sealy Award for the most outstanding athlete of the meet with record breaking performances in the under 17 boys shot put and discus events.
