Jamaica Sends 115-Athlete Contingent to Junior PanAm

Jamaica has sent a formidable contingent of 115 young athletes to compete at the Junior Pan American Games, now underway in Asunción, Paraguay.

This marks one of the largest delegation Jamaica has ever sent to this prestigious multi-sport event, and the team is spread across 12 sporting disciplines.

This is a clear signal of Jamaica’s growing commitment to athletic development beyond the track.

Jamaica’s athletes are ready to make their mark in, Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Cycling, Diving, Fencing, Golf, Rugby, Sailing, Swimming, Tennis and Wrestling.

The Jamaicans have already started collecting medals with swimmer Sabrina Lyn securing silver in the women 100-metres breaststroke in 1-minute-09 second and Collin McKenzie bronze in the men’s race in national record time 1-minute-01-point-53.

McKenzie is hopeful that the country will secure more medals.
