Jamaica made a losing start to their campaign in the West Indies Rising Stars Under 15 Cricket Championship, going down by nine wickets to champions Barbados at Liberta Sports Club in Antigua on Tuesday.
The young Jamaicans crashed to 77 all out in 24-point-5 overs with three players getting into double figures including wicketkeeper Luwaine Pryce who top scored with 22.
Asher Branford bagged four wickets for Barbados, while Joshua Thompson and Jahidi Hinds claimed three apiece.
The Bajans then raced to 78 for 1 in 18 overs to complete the victory.
Jamaica’s next game will be against Guyana on Thursday at the Antigua Recreation Ground.
In other games on Today the Windward Islands 110 for 2 beat the Leeward Islands 109 all out by 8 wickets at the Coolidge Ground.
While Guyana 171 for 4 beat Trinidad and Tobago 168 all out by 6 wickets.
